Part of the contracts issued through the passing of the 2008 School Facilities Improvement Bond included exterior and interior updates for the Taos Middle School campus, originally built in 196- and haphazardly added onto in the decades since. Phase I improvements included new sidewalks and new canopies at each classroom entry and a special needs accessible drive and drop off zone with a steel and poly carbonate canopy-covered entry.
Phase II comprises a hodgepodge of renovations throughout the interior, from replacing the gymnasium floor to updating the kitchen and cafeteria to replacing fixtures in and reorganizing the restroom and locker rooms.
